[04 Apr 2007|12:32am] Although I couldn't really get through much of Zizek's Ticklish Subject (past a certain point the po-mo/Lacan-speak and muddy (anti?)metaphysics got to me), I have been reading his essays more and more as of late and I find them really on point. Sadly, owing to the hour "I find them really on point" is all I can say about the fascinating dissections of verbicide instances and political structures.Read this? I have to be studying my quantum if I don't want to just die in the final, but my friend Donna came by from Scotland with brother, father and boyfriend in tow, so I needed to pop out for a bit this evening. We ate and chatted about music, how our friend teaching college is so well off, a fishing trip, crit theory (Donna's boyfriend is an M.A. student in lit, and interested in Derrida/Baudrillard), accidents with power tools, strip joints, jazz and a fear of dwarves. I picked up a new teapot the other day, and I have to point out how enjoyable it is to have a fresh Earl Grey with vanilla almond milk in the morning. Also, I haven't been meditating much lately. I really don't know what I'm doing there. I'm so stupid, my priorities need re-prioritizing. post comment
